I am developing some programs for my current author/clients and for anyone else, for that matter, on how to best publicize your self-published book. Its going to be really cool! There will be a home-study course for those who want to work on their own and/or a weekly (or biweekly) emailed checklist of book promotion ideas for those who want a more author coach led approach. I can’t wait to show them to you!

Having a degree in advertising and marketing it just comes naturally for me to think about how to let people know your book is out there. But, to keep up with the ever-changing world of online, digital and independent publishing, I’ve also been doing research online. A lot of research! I’ve been learning how to have great Facebook pages and terrific Twitter interactions. Been taking notes on developing online content and searching for ways to update more traditional marketing venues for my authors. It’s quite fun to learn all of this! (Now I just need to make the time to apply it to my own business and books!)

In my research, I’ve found great websites offering amazing information. I thought I’d pass along a few of my favs. None of them focus specifically on book marketing but I always get great information from these guys, and I think you will too!

One word of warning! Don’t get so caught up in gathering information that you don’t apply any of it. One of the best tips I’ve heard on this subject is to apply something new every week. See what works and what doesn’t. But if you wait to get all the information organized and fit into a plan, (take it from me) you’ll never get to the implementation!
