A note from Michael:

For the first eleven years of my writing career, my readership could have fit in my living room, and I knew them all. I loved to write, but I was intimidated by the idea of publication. Then I started working with Alane. Her vast knowledge of the publishing industry and social media, coupled with the ability to simplify the complicated, convinced me of the possibilities; and her encouragement made me believe. At the age of ten, Michael saw his first episode of The Twilight Zone and got hooked on mystery. At eighteen, he had an encounter with Jesus Christ that changed the course of his life. In 2001, he discovered his passion for writing. Today, he writes about the mysteries of life from a biblical Christian perspective; sometimes in straight up nonfiction and sometimes in the garb of fiction.

Besides his published works, Michael has written five non-fiction books, several short stories, and over a hundred essays. His short story, One of a Million Things, won third runner up in the Colonnade Writing Contest at CJM Books and is included in their 2012 anthology of short stories.

Michael’s second published book ventures into the realm of fiction. BLACKWELL is a human drama about an extraterrestrial encounter. Combining elements of mystery, humor, and suspense this realistic science fiction probes the depths of what it means to be truly human.

When Michael is not writing, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and encouraging other independent writers. He is available to speak about the craft of writing and building a platform to share ideas with the world.

BLACKWELL: The Encounter Begins

BLACKWELL is a story about loyalty, friendship, conviction, and a danger that threatens to destroy it all. When visitors from another world show up at their Wyoming ranch, Rick and Jane Blackwell are amazed; first, by the proof that extraterrestrial intelligent life really exists, and second by the friendship that so easily forms. As the shock subsides and the language barrier is crossed, they settle into a new way of life. But when a stranger shows up, everything Rick thinks he knows falls under the shadow of doubt as he becomes an unwitting pawn in an ancient battle from another world. Has he been tricked into believing a lie? Will the truth be his demise or his salvation? Can he act in time to save his wife and new daughter? And what if the world found out what really happened at the Blackwell Ranch?
